Exodus Week 6 Day 30

Read Exodus 33:12-18

The story of Exodus is at best a turbulent one for the Israelites. God’s people seem unable to escape the roller coaster of their own making as they turn from God time and time again. In the midst of all this, Moses approaches God. And in spite of Moses’ leadership struggles and inability to keep the Israelites on track, God calls Moses a friend, and says that He will be with Moses.

In the Exodus 33:14, God tells Moses “ My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Although Moses had a hard time making sure the Israelities followed God. He made sure that they were not alone within it.

God says the same thing to you and I. When we walk away, His Presence goes before us. When we are upset with Him, His Presence goes before us. When our parents split up, we fight with our siblings or fail the test, God’s Presence goes before us.

We can know and believe that God is going before us and will never leave or forsake us. He gives the New Testament Christian the same promise in Matthew 28:20 “---- and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age”

Reflect:
Do you always feel like God is with you why or why not?

What is one moment you were sure the Holy Spirit was there with you?

What is one way we can remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit is with us always?
