Fasting Devotion Day 21
READ
“And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.” So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.” Exodus 17:9-13 NKJV
THINK
I say it all the time at Ignite: Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future. There is such a truth that we are always moving to become more like the ones we spend time with. If you spend time with people who get in trouble you will get in trouble, no doubt! You spend time with people who are angry and always upset…guess what, you will be too. On the flip side, when you associate with people who are full of light then your eyes will be more and more open to God’s goodness.
Moses is able to accomplish an impossible victory because he had people around him that could hold him up in his weakness. As his arms began to grow tired there were people there to literally lend their strength to him. For us to be victorious in our battles we must have men and women of faith walking with us every step of the way!
1. Take a look at your life and see who is helping you grow in a positive way? Who are the people in your life that are leading you down a bad path? Who do you need to separate from so that you don’t become like them?
PRAY
Today will you join me in praying in unity for our church to be a genuine community of love, support, and encouragement. I see a vision for Ignite where we are walking with one another holding up each others arms so that none of us are weak.
